As Head of Media and Product strategy for Voguepay I led and contributed to strategic product initiatives to expand customer base globally while minimizing lost revenue due to a lack of diverse payment options and inefficient checkout flows, limiting VoguePay's appeal to international merchants
Some of the initiatives include:
  • Redesigning the merchant onboarding experience
  • Launching suite of APIs and whitelabel API for partners and expanded support to integrate merchant ERP systems
  • Implemented advanced checkout payment that supports multi-currency checkout.
This concerted, multi-faceted product strategy achieved the following objectives
  1. It drove a 500% increase in international customer traffic and maximized revenue through FX margins and transaction fees.
  1. Achieved 42.89% YoY revenue growth, reaching $137 million in annual transaction volume.
  1. Increased VoguePay's international merchant base by 30% YoY, contributing to 70% of total revenue by 2019.
  1. Created a referral system that drove 44.26% of all visits, supplemented by a content-driven blog that recorded over 400,000 views and reduced support time by 20 man-hours weekly.

Borderless Banking For Africans
African markets lacked accessible cross-border banking and investment solutions, limiting financial inclusivity for this demographic.
As Head of Media and Product strategy for Voguepay, I led a team of cross-functional business, UX and engineering team (including the lead designer for Revolut app) to deliver the product concepts. Also, played a key role in getting a sandbox license with the Central Bank of Bahrain (see link)
VPD has raised funding with private valuation above $10m USD.

As Managing Director and Director of Product, I led the concept for the development of a digital app offering loan, savings app for a target 90 million underserved market in Nigeria to access value-driven financial solutions.

  • Cooperative groups are informal financial institutions, similar to Community Development Financial Institutions (CDFIs) like Credit Unions that play a crucial role in addressing financial inclusion gap, particularly in rural areas.
  • Coopify is a commercially successful product serving enterprise clients that include cooperative staffs of 2 top tier Nigerian banks, a leading finance house in Nigeria and several businesses.

Small businesses use Probitybooks' easy invoicing, inventory management and other tools to manage their daily business operations online or offline.
I led the the product discovery and go-to-market strategy.
Digital Tool for Smallholder Farmers
ProbityFarms is a digital platform designed for 28 million smallholder farmers in Nigeria to manage operations, inventory, and investor relationships, improving agricultural productivity and risk management. The Probityfarms platform provides farmers with tools to track income and expenses, enabling them to make better financial decisions and improve their business planning.
As co-founder and Head of Product, I led the the team to create digital tools for farm budgeting, weather tracking, and inventory management, providing farmers with structured operational oversight.
ProbityFarms is recognized by the International Food Policy Research Institute as a critical tool for productivity in Nigerian agriculture, with positive media coverage.

Metro Africa Xpress (MAX) is a mobility startup backed by Techstars providing high-performance and low-emission commercial vehicles.

Sabi is a digital B2B marketplace that brings together merchants, importers, exporters and manufacturers to facilitate the distribution of goods and services in Africa.
Africa's largest mobility tech-platform
As an early stage startup, Max needed B2B API integrations to scale its mobility offerings for businesses. to allow merchants to integrate dispatch and ride services seamlessly.
As Growth and Product Consultant, I designed and validated a proof-of-concept API that allowed B2B merchants to integrate MAX dispatch services, supporting both consumer and corporate clients. Impacts included:
  • User Acquisition: Enhanced B2B service capabilities, expanded MAX's business client base and increasing market share.
  • Market Expansion: MAX became a reliable provider for corporate mobility solutions, setting the stage for further scalability.
B2B Marketplace For African Retailers
Sabi provides a platform for SMEs and micro-entrepreneurs to reach more customers and suppliers. Originally piloted as SpacesO2O, a digital B2B platform designed to empower informal traders to transition their businesses online.
I was the Lead PM responsible for the agent network and digital financial services for SpacesO2O.
The product, SpacesO2O, is now rebranded as Sabi and spun off as a separate company that is valued at over $300 million as an important digital commerce infrastructure layer enabling micro-entrepreneurs to connect with suppliers and market needs.
